Meet Carol
Hi, I’m Carol Sutcliff, Director at Little World for Discovers. I began my journey in early childhood education at the age of 16 and have been fortunate to build a career spanning more than 25 years in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different roles within the sector, including Room Leader, Educational Leader, Inclusion Support Officer, Centre Manager and Assistant Director. I have been part of the Little World family for six years, spending three years as Assistant Director before stepping into the Director role last year. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management.
I’ve also worked in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), where I planned and delivered engaging vacation care programs for school-aged children. Another part of my experience includes developing and running a centre cooking program, where I planned menus and prepared nutritious meals for children while ensuring they met dietary and nutritional requirements.
I truly believe that every child is a star. As educators, it is our role to provide the love, care and meaningful experiences that allow each child to shine in their own unique way. Creating a warm, inclusive and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore and learn is something I am deeply passionate about.
I also love supporting and mentoring educators, as I believe when educators feel supported and inspired, it creates the best possible environment for children and families. Being part of children’s early learning journeys and building strong relationships with families is the most rewarding part of what I do.
